How would switching an average person in the U.S. to an Isagenix Program affect his or her total sugar intake?

A typical consumer using an Isagenix 30-Day System would cut his or her sugar intake by half or more daily, depending on products used and whether the day was a Shake Day or Cleanse Day.

The same consumer would also cut total intake of carbohydrates and calories by nearly half - while improving overall nutrition - promoting safe, healthy weight loss while maintaining muscle.

Why Use Sugar At All?

The use of modest amounts of sugar for natural sweetness in Isagenix products comes down to this ~ it wouldn’t be a complete meal replacement without it.

Sugars are naturally found in many foods that contribute to a healthy diet – fruits, vegetables, dairy, and grains.

Plus, all carbohydrates – whether they come from fruits, vegetables, or grain products like pasta – are all broken down to simple sugars before being absorbed into the body.

Sugar in Isagenix Products

When you look at ingredient labels of Isagenix products, some of them include small amounts of sugar in different forms ~ honey, dextrose, sucrose, fructose, molasses, and agave syrup.

An entire day’s intake from Isagenix products still contains on average 16 grams less sugar in comparison to drinking one single serving of cola.

In fact, two IsaLean Protein Shake servings daily provide only about 20 grams of total sugars in about 480 calories ~ as much as you’d find in an orange or apple.

A single serving of Plant-Based Isalean Protein Shake contains 2 grams or less of total sugars.

Glycemic Index

Glycemic index, or GI, is a way to rank foods according to the effect that they have on your blood sugar level~ from low-glycemic to high-glycemic. Isagenix IsaLean Shakes are low-glycemic.

Low-glycemic foods help your body maintain steady blood sugar levels and avoid that low-energy feeling while providing sustained energy and helping you manage your appetite.

High-glycemic foods cause a sharp rise in blood sugar level that is usually followed by a crash that can leave you feeling low on fuel a short time later.

All Isagenix IsaLean Shakes and Bars are each evaluated individually in human clinical trials to confirm that they are, indeed, low-glycemic.

Fructose

As part of a reduced-calorie Isagenix system, fructose is particularly useful. Compared to other sugars, fructose results in a lower-glycemic, more moderate rise in blood glucose levels.

In controlled amounts fructose serves to help maintain blood sugar control and is burned up as energy - not stored as fat - supporting overall health and weight loss goals.

Sugar Alcohols

Sugar alcohols are naturally found in many kinds of fruits and vegetables and assist in providing sweetness while helping maintain a lower glycemic and caloric profile.

Sugar alcohols also help retain moisture in some Isagenix products to keep them from hardening due to their high protein content.

Why Not Just Use Stevia?

This natural leaf extract is already used for providing some sweetness in Isagenix products. Stevia is not a source of carbohydrates or sugar and provides zero calories.

Sugar is not only important for its sweetness appeal, it also helps contribute to nutritional balance ~ providing carbohydrate for energy and fuel for physical activity.

Today I celebrate MYSELF!

I am blown away at what I have accomplished with the help of the Isagenix Program. I’m most excited about the life I have gained, the energy I now have and the way I feel about myself.

I am now able to be a better me each day for myself and for others in my life ~ a healthy present mom, a loving partner, a helpful daughter, an encouraging sister, and forever an Isa 100 pound club member.

I am an Isagenix teammate who works on myself daily so I may lead by example to inspire, motivate and encourage others to do the same.

This is a journey ~ if I can do it, then it is something ANYONE can do!
