What Is Gluten?
More people than ever are choosing gluten-free options, but if you haven’t given it much thought before, you might be wondering what exactly gluten is and if it can be harmful to your health.

Celiac Disease and Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity
For those with the autoimmune disorder called celiac disease, gluten can trigger an immune response in the small intestine, causing damage to the absorptive lining.
This damage can cause a host of negative symptoms, including increased risk for malnutrition due to an inability to absorb vitamins and minerals and essential nutrients.
The prevalence of celiac disease has skyrocketed in the United States, with a four-fold increase in Americans being diagnosed since 1950.
Even greater than the rise in the number of those diagnosed with celiac disease is the rise in the number of those diagnosed with non-celiac gluten sensitivity.
Isagenix is a gluten-free company. All Isagenix foods and dietary supplements are free from gluten.

Isagenix uses only the best quality, responsibly sourced whey protein for our dairy-based shakes.
Our whey protein is sourced primarily from dairy farmers in New Zealand and other suppliers in the US and Australia who also meet our strict quality standards. We use milk from grass-fed cows who are not treated with hormones or routine antibiotics.
The plant proteins used in our Plant-Based Whole Blend IsaLean Shake are produced using low-heat methods that ensure the integrity of the final product, and they are extracted through physical separation.
Importantly, these processes do not use a chemical extraction step or hexane. The low-heat process ensures the plant proteins are not altered, preventing any denaturation of the product.
Non-GMO
As a policy, Isagenix makes every effort to use only non-GMO or GMO-free ingredients in its products.

Organic ingredients may be used when they are the best option for the quality of the product. However, organic ingredients do not always meet Isagenix quality standards.
USDA-certified organic refers to crops grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, but does not ensure purity, safety, or potency, whereas the Isagenix no-compromise ingredient policy and sourcing process does.

No-Compromise Quality
The Isagenix No-Compromise Quality Policy is extensive and thorough ~ set up to ensure that our products are made in accordance with the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for foods and dietary supplements.
Isagenix strives to meet and exceed the GMPs that the US Food and Drug Administration requires under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act. These guidelines cover authenticity, quarantine and release procedures, potency and purity testing of raw materials and finished products, cleanliness of the facility, employee training, documentation, and other areas.
We also adhere to detailed written policies to ensure consistency and safety in each phase of our manufacturing process.
