Greetings from Carole Taylor ... your Weekly Update ~ Jan 24

We all know what it feels like when you don’t get a good night of sleep. The brain fog, sluggishness, and overall feeling of blah.

Unfortunately, we may not always make sleep a priority, which can have a negative impact on both our productivity and well-being.

Scientists have long known sleep loss can dramatically affect a person’s physiology in a myriad of ways ~ including cognitive function, weight maintenance, stress and the immune system.

Science-Backed Tips for Better Sleep and Brain Health

The science behind the effects of sleep and sleep deprivation and how to get the best sleep can be a complicated subject.

This podcast demystifies the science and gives concrete advice on the everyday changes you can make to get the best rest.

Join Research Scientist Alex Mohr on the call to discuss the importance of sleep, what is happening in your brain at night, and why it plays such an important role in your overall wellbeing. Alex offers simple tips to improve the quality of your sleep .

How Sleep Affects Weight Maintenance

When your goal is to lose body fat, you’d expect to make changes to diet and exercise. But you might not think of factoring in sleep.

In a study from Arizona State University, scientists found that when overweight individuals skimped out on sleep for just one hour for up to five nights per week, they lost less body fat during a structured weight loss program lasting eight weeks.

Sleep loss of just 60 minutes five days a week caused a shift in how the body responds to calorie restriction, including changing the balance of appetite hormones (leptin and ghrelin) as well as insulin sensitivity.

Better Rest Helps Boost Your Immune System

Getting adequate sleep is probably the most important habit to support the immune system. Without proper sleep, the immune system is one of the first things to suffer.

in a study done by Surrey Sleep Research Centre in the UK, researchers evaluated the consequences of one week of insufficient sleep on 26 men.

They found that the men had altered activity of some 700 genes. A number of the genes affected by sleep deprivation were involved in immune system response.

Sleep Helps Moderate Stress

Sometimes the only difference between stress and your best is a good night’s sleep.

When you’re sleeping, the body is working on itself, building and mending.

When you don’t get enough quality sleep, stress hormones like cortisol can become elevated.

Spray Sleeplessness Away

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland, a tiny structure shaped like a pinecone.

Melatonin release peaks at night and is one of the primary mechanisms behind putting us to sleep.

Unfortunately, with age, the body’s natural production of melatonin declines.

Isagenix Sleep Support & Renewal contains a proprietary blend of melatonin combined with calming chamomile, tart cherry, L-theanine, lemon balm, and valerian root.

Together, these nutrients and botanical ingredients can promote a good night’s rest, which in turn may support memory, mental clarity, cognitive function, and overall brain health.

Isagenix Sleep Support and Renewal is a fast-acting, simple, natural spray that works quickly.

Our proprietary time-release formulation of restful botanicals ensures that the sweet dreams last.

Works Fast & Lasts ~ Isagenix Sleep Support & Renewal delivers fast acting melatonin. It isn’t sleep on demand, but it might be the next closest thing.
